Would it be an idea to also create such a tutorial for all admin/*.tpl files for those who wanna style/template/whatever that too?

Install eXtreme styles mod on your forum and in xs_mod settings (in admin control panel) enable option "show tpl filename". Then open forum page in your browser and look in page source. Mod will add template filenames that are used in generating that page to page source, so you'll quickly find what file to edit.
