my mouse stopped working

Postby Snitz on Sun Mar 20, 2005 3:47 pm

I was working normaly on my pc, I went off the computer for few mins, I came back to find my mouse broke
the main problem is that the driver has vanished and I can't get it back
if you goto Control Panel >> Mouse >> Hardware (tab) you should find something there like a driver
I don't have it, it's empty on my pc...
I formatted twice and it's still empty
so please tell me how to get it back ??? :(

first of all, do you know what name is your mouse? or what could be its manufacturer name is.. for example, mine is "A4 tech"..anyway, if your using windows XP, then it should have already install a driver for your mouse....and i dont know if i can send you my driver for mouse using drivers from my windows XP..i dont know if thats allowed though..

furthermore, ill try to look around on the internet, and redirect you...

quite Odd. if thats the case, then windows might not have detected your mouse in the first place. and on the other hand, i doubt on windows wont install drivers if ever it detects a new input devices..

how about checking once again your mouse if it plugs correctly..
and reboot your PC..

unfortuantely, i did not found any drivers that match on 3d optical mouse..must have been more specifically..

anyway, you can try this.. http://www.driver-downloads.com/drivers-download-1.htm

sorry Sir..

I take it you tried:

control panel/mouse/hardware/properties

Should see device status or & click driver and try the different options.

or Congrats on new mouse. :)

Re: my mouse stopped working

Postby wildbill on Thu Oct 30, 2008 1:10 am

im sorry 2 post in this ancient thread but it matches my problem almost exactly. yesterday i was doing some work on my pc and every 5-10 mins my mouse would suddenly die on me then come back to life seconds later, over the next hour it become more frequent until my mouse stopped working all together, so i unplugged my mouse plugged it back in several times and i rebooted the computer twice still nothing, so then i tried all 5 of my seperate mouses(4 of which are usb and 1 is the circle thingemefark) none of them worked, every time i tried plugging them in it would say that there are no drivers for this unkown device and when it askd if i would like the pc to search the internet for the required drivers i would say yes and 5 mintues later it would say there was an error while installing the required drivers(i got this for EVERY mouse). so now ive spent the last 2 hours using my keyboard to register on this forum and find my way to post in this thread(a royal pain in da behind). so im hoping someone can please help me? :(
